Building surfaces through texture, gesture and layered painting processes

• A material-focused workshop exploring surface, structure and the language of marks.

  Using acrylic paint and mixed media, we will build layered surfaces through texture, repetition and gesture. Different tools and techniques are introduced as a starting point, while leaving space for individual experimentation.

  This process encourages a more physical and exploratory way of painting, where the image develops gradually through layering.

 Layered monotype printing with colour, texture and joyful experimentation

• An experimental approach to image-making using a gel plate and layers of colour.

  In this workshop, we explore the process of monotype printing — building textures, shapes and subtle colour variations through layering, transfer and repetition. The results are often unexpected, allowing for a playful and intuitive way of working.

An exploration of images, painting, collage and personal visual storytelling
